Every day, our crating department is busy designing and constructing custom crating solutions for cargo that will be shipped around the world, and through a variety of conditions. Though the exterior of the crate and, often, their innovative designs usually get the most attention, it’s what’s going on inside the crate that is often the most important.

Within any custom crate it’s important to ensure that the cargo is properly protected from the elements. Often this protection involves a protective vapor barrier, like the one seen in the project photos below. These protective coverings shield the cargo from dust, moisture, and, perhaps most importantly, corrosion from saltwater laden air, while being transported overseas, via ship. The simple addition of the barrier protects sensitive electronics, hardware, and non-stainless metals, keeping them as perfect as when they were placed in the crate.
